Whangarei is a city 2 1/2hrs drive North from Auckland. It is well-known spot for ocean-going yachts as it has a sheltered Marina and large harbour. A little further along is Whangarei Heads with fabulous secluded bays, rugged mountains and rocky outcrops to explore.

Our Home: We live with a view of the water from all sides of the house. It is superb!
We are 20-25mins from town with another shopping centre including supermarket and post office etc just 15 mins into that route. Local shops virtually at the end of the road include a Garage, Liquor outlet, Bakery, Mini Superette and a lovely cafe.
Golf course is just 10 mins down the road. Ocean beach (with many others along the way) is 13km away. We have a 2 bedroom home with two living areas allowing for 6 people to be accommodated if using the sofa bed in the lounge (actually both living areas have a sofa bed so one could have 8 people but only one bathroom so....)
Rebuilt in 2010 this is a fresh modern home with up to date kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Wifi, TVx3 along with a vast movie selection, air con/heat pump.
X2 bikes and a kayak also available and possibility of a car.
Spend time swimming, fishing (rods available), surfing, and body boarding, or just wandering along the estuaries, bays, marinas and harbour. Spectacular scenery surrounds us. Whatever direction you take there is wonderful coastline to explore. Pataua, Tutukaka, Ngungaru, Matapouri are all places you could become familiar with. The Bay of Islands is only a 70km drive away with more wonderful scenery and water based activities. Take an easy day trip or pleasant overnight stay. So much to enjoy!
