Rättvik is situated by the lake of Siljan in Dalecarlia, surrounded by forests with paths for walking. Every summer there are a lot of cultural events with, for example, music and dance in Rättvik. The area is famous for its folklore, folk music and old timber houses. Even though Rättvik is a small town it has many shops, restaurants, hotels, three banks, a railway station and a bus station. The nearest big towns are Mora, 40 km to the north, and Falun, 45 km to the east.
