My home is located in the great central valley of California. Bakersfield is not a
tourist town. In fact it gets very hot in summer. However, visitors will have access to
all the riches that California has to offer. Use my car and you are 1 hour from the
Pacific Crest Trail; 2 hours from Los Angeles, Hollywood, Pacific Ocean Beaches,
wine country, Yosemite & Sequoia national forrests, Giant Redwoods and the Mojave
Desert; 4 hours from San Francisco, and Las Vegas Nevada. Bakersfield is known as
"Nashville West" with a deep country music heritage. Buck Owens Crystal Palace is 5
minutes from the house. The mighty Kern river runs through town, (except in times
of drought) in 45 minutes you can be white water rafting or fly fishing in the upper
Kern. We have a zoo, parks, skate parks, great shopping, restaurants, and above all
friendly, welcoming people. I have a huge family room, a sleeping loft with two
double beds and a fire pole - kids love it. I have a great music system and internet
access from my Mac, a large, cool leafy garden with a barbque, great for enjoying
the spectacular Bakersfield summer nights.
