We offer a waterfront home off Casco Bay with an extensive yard, private setting, and comfortable deck. The rugged Maine Coast is famous for its historic lighthouses, such as the Portland Head Light that is 15 minutes from our home. Our peaceful back yard on the Cousins River estuary is 500 meters from the main part of Casco Bay. Our private dock is just steps from the house, with several small boats available to explore the coast. Bald eagles are often seen from our property, feeding on abundant fish in the estuaries. Maine is famous for its lobster, caught and sold locally (and held here by the children of one of our friends.) Our home has cathedral ceilings, natural wood throughout, and a wrap-around deck on the upper level. The main floor has an open floor plan with large sliding glass doors onto the deck and wonderful water views. Modern kitchen with full appliances. Spacious deck with room for dining and relaxing. Our 1.6 acre (7,000 sq m) property includes ample parking, garage, forest, and waterfront on two sides. We enjoy paddling, rowing, and sailing from our dock. We have 3.5-meter tides at this location, so water is fully accessible at mid-tide and higher, about 14 hours per day. Fall brings brilliant foliage colors to our back yard. The nearby Yarmouth harbor and village offers marinas, shops, and restaurants. Historic Sparhawk Mill and Royal River park are a short bike ride from our home. Shops in Yarmouth village. Fishing for striped bass off Cousins Beach in Yarmouth. The vibrant city of Portland is 15 minutes away, and offers an active waterfront, fine restaurants, shopping, banks, museums, theaters, and regular ferries to the many Casco Bay islands. Southern Maine offers many popular sand beaches such as the Scarborough, Kennebunk, and Old Orchard Beaches. Maine¤s spectacular fall foliage draws visitors from all over the world.

Private and comfortable waterfront home on Casco Bay in scenic New England. Natural setting on an estuary, large property, peaceful views. Nearby access to beaches, islands, seaports, shopping, festivals, and all of the northeastern United States and eastern Canada within several hours drive. Private dock with tidal access and use of several small boats included.

We are interested in Switzerland, Languedoc, Provence, or Ireland in September or October for hiking, and possibly New Zealand in 2014.
