About our home: built 14 yrs ago in Victorian style, it lies on the outskirts of Melbourne in a quiet, friendly neighbourhood in the sort after coastal area of Mornington/Mt.Martha.
You will find our home, which has country style and antique furniture, cosy, bright and friendly. Withdraw to the study, the reading corner, or perhaps to the handywork room, unless, of course, you prefer to watch TV.
Each morning Beatrice and I are visited by a family of Magpies, expecting breakfast to be fed to them(out of the hand).
Enjoy your meals on the terrace(the major part of the year)amongst the flowers and flowering shrubs, which also bloom in Autumn and Winter.
About the area: In exactly 5 min. by car you will be parking in front of a beautiful beach. Vineyards, riding, tennis, golf and sailing, theatre, art museum and classic music recitals all within 10 min drive.
Main Street Mornington offers an abundance of Cafe´s, al fresco restaurants and a weekly market in view of the Bay. The locals say they would never live anywhere else!
The climate is mild, especially in Spring & Autumn, allowing invigorating walks, cycling, sports and siteseeing in pleasant temp. You will love the many opportunities to experience our unique Australian wildlife: Koalas, kangaroos, kookaburras, dolphins close by and miniature penguins 1hr15min drive.
For the book worms we can recommend the local library. You will be less than 1hr from Melbourne-the cultural capital of AUS, which offers world class entertainment: theatre, opera, shows, art galleries, museums, etc., etc.
About us: Beatrice(61), born in DE and Ellis(65), born in AUS (Tasmania), have just moved back to this wonderful part of the planet after spending many yrs in Germany. We have a son, Rene´(34),who lives 20 min away and will be of assistance to our HomeLink Exchangers.
We have exchanged our previous home in DE with one in MEL-references could be forwarded.
About the exchange dates/times: Ideally we are looking for an exchange of 2 to 3 mths, preferably between Apr and Oct. We are open for any suggestion.
