Our 30's apartment is in a small block of 6, in a cul-de-sac. The apartment is large, with a separate lounge and dining room which leads to a small courtyard with a fountain - it is pleasant to eat 'al fresco' in summer. The kitchen is small but well-laid out with a separate walk-in pantry which also houses the 'fridge. We choose not to have a dishwasher, microwave, clothes dryer or huge TV as we are trying to reduce our carbon footprint - but rest assured, we do have perfectly adequate TV/dvd/cd players etc.and wifi! There is an internal laundry with indoor lines as well as an outdoor clothes line. There are 2 bedrooms plus a study/sunroom with lovely district views over bushland and houses. The main bedroom has a double, half-tester bed and the second bedroom has a single bed. There is also a sofa-bed in the study. The apartment is carpeted throughout with quarry tiles in the dining room and kitchen. It is on the 1st floor with 39 steps from street level.
We are within walking distance of Mosman Bay, where the ferry into the city takes 20 minutes. Reid Park is at the end of the street and leads to the ferry and some wonderful scenic walks around Sydney Harbour. Taronga Zoo, with it's stunning views over the Harbour, is minutes away and the picturesque Balmoral Beach is 10 minutes by car and is also accessible by bus. Balmoral has some good restaurants and cafés and it is safe to swim as there is a pool enclosure as well as the open water. There is also a local Swimming Centre for those who prefer indoor swimming. Mosman Rowers Club is a short walk away and is situated on the water with a reasonable bar menu as well as a restaurant with stunning views of Mosman Bay. Mosman is regarded as a 'mecca' for shoppers and gourmets and the neighbouring suburbs of Cremorne and Neutral Bay are also full of interesting shops. There is a small but well-stocked local library and a good cinema.
